Game Overview
The Smoke Jaguars are the first target of the Inner Sphere’s counterattack on the Clans! The planet Tranquil will be attacked by Operation Democles. You are Connor Sinclair and leading the Eridani Light Horse’s Democles Commando team, which is part of the attack. Your Lancemates have been scattered to the four winds in the frantic drop after one of the two drop ships was struck while descending during the operation. You need to make your way through Clan territory, find your Lancemates, get past any obstacles in your way, try to escape the planet, and do what you came here to do: eliminate the Smoke Jaguars! MechWarrior 3 features detailed mechs that move slowly and ponderously, just like 100-ton mechs should (they limp when legs are hit, and destroyed limbs spark and trail wreckage). If you want to win your engagements, the key is power and precise application. There are numerous mechs available. In a 20-mission campaign, you begin in a 55-ton Bushwhacker and progress to the really heavy equipment. At Microsoft Zone, Internet play supports full multiplayer. Because your MFB only has a limited amount of space, you’ll have to decide which supplies to keep or toss for salvage. You’ll need to keep an eye on the mechs, weapons, equipment, like heatsinks, and ammunition. If you don’t protect the MFB, you’ll have even less room! Redesign mechs to make use of newly acquired weapons or to change with the situation with ammunition.
