Enter a gloomy sci-fi visual novel set in a post-apocalyptic world where the majority of humanity has been eradicated by a mysterious disease known as “Peccatomania.” Rust and his sister are the focus of the story as they wander through barren lands in search of other living humans. It is believed that this disease has affected all other humans and caused them to experience insanity, sensory illusions, and uncontrollable urges toward self-destruction. The only way to control these symptoms is to play Archetype Arcadia, a virtual game. Rust does not have the disease, but when his sister mysteriously stops breathing one day, he is forced to enter the virtual world of the game and navigate this unseen world in order to treat her. The game takes place in a brand-new world filled with monsters and people. a world where players can use their powerful memories and avatars to fight each other by wearing a game device. While this virtual presence probably postpones the sickness, it additionally conveys serious results. Rust makes lifelong friends and unbreakable enemies as he fights his way through this strange world in search of a cure. Along the way, he meets people whose identities and histories are not what he expected. The plot of Archetype Arcadia is beautiful and shocking, leading the player on a journey of mystery, heartbreak, friendship, and redemption.
