Game Overview

Amelia Morrison moves to the city to try to pick up the pieces of what is left of the events that took place in her home town of Rzekiva because she is unable to deal with them.

Despite her best efforts to ignore them, she can’t help but think of that town every time she goes through the monotony of everyday life. Their persistence reveals that the events in Rzekiva may not have been as they appear, despite the pain they cause.

The world around Amelia begins to spiral as she peels back the layers, and she stands alone in the middle of it all. Truth and trust are becoming scarce resources.

Butterfly/Circuit takes place in the gray city of Centropol in the New European Federated Economic Territory (NEFET). The concrete grid is rife with surveillance, resource extraction, and body policing, but Amelia has more pressing issues to worry about. Morrison has to cut through the fabric of Centropol’s conspiracy networks, hidden passages, and lost technology cultures.

Amelia must make wise decisions regarding whom to trust and whom to keep at arms length as she crosses paths with both new and familiar faces.

Butterfly//Circuit is a cybergothic kinetic visual novel developed by new solo developer WireWARE with guidance from the MVU. It is based on David Lynch’s works, Serial Experiments Lain, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and a twisting drama with psychological horror.

Butterfly/Circuit is supported by original artwork and an original soundtrack that features a variety of music from pumping techno and chill trip-hop to moody post-rock and atmospheric drones to create a dark and tense reading experience.
