Take charge of the Tribe of the Dawn’s members as they venture far into forbidden territories. Complete quests that affect their well-being, shape their personalities, and determine their community’s future. In this grim fantasy world based on Slavic folklore, ensure your people’s survival. Erect palisades, foster designs, and become your gord from a modest settlement to a considerable stronghold. But expanding won’t be easy! Your people are constantly in danger from hostile tribes, terrifying monsters, and enigmatic powers that lurk in the woods nearby. In Gord, the varied quests will require you to venture outside of your settlement to either avert disaster or address a personal issue of one of your subjects. Your journey will be guided by the main goals of the scenario, while side quests and random encounters will take you into the wilderness to find legendary creatures, learn ancient secrets, or defeat a terrible scourge. Plan for something amazing. Set the stage by selecting one of a wide range of scenarios, and then try to win. Take it easy or set a difficult task; nearly anything can be changed! Select the number of levels, the number of raids, the kind of enemies you’ll face, your starting resources, and even the severity of the weather from a selection of primary objectives. Naturally, don’t forget about the Horrors. A sound people is the way to endurance in Gord. Each part of your pilgrims’ lives – from sickness, to hunger, to the passing of their family – can affect each subject’s Mental soundness levels. Keep an eye on them closely because if a subject’s sanity deteriorates too much, they will either give up or even try to escape your control.
