Game Overview
It is the year 2008. In an experiment, the UGG Research Institute tries to open a portal to The Backrooms. However, the experiment goes horribly wrong, corrupting The Frontrooms and leaving them with unstable surfaces, forcing people to reluctantly move to The Backrooms in the event that they fall.
The player begins a vlog recording. He grabs all of the gear he needs and is about to leave his house when he suddenly falls through the floor and ends up in the Backrooms. There is nothing but the stench of old, wet carpet, the madness of monochrome, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in, as well as other areas that have not yet been explored. The objective of the game is to return to The Frontrooms while solving various puzzles along the way.
Kenophobia is a psychological horror game that looks like Found Footage and is based on The Backrooms. You meander across alleged liminal spaces and dynamically go to different levels, tackling puzzles that may be available inside the different levels to get back to the Frontrooms.
