Game Overview

R.U.S.E. is a Real-time Strategy (RTS) game with a revolutionary deception gameplay mechanic that gives the game’s traditional faction and resource collection-based battlefield action a whole new dimension. Misdirection-based elaborate strategies, which are just as crucial to overall game success as any other battlefield strategy, are made possible and encouraged by this mechanic. Six historically accurate Allied and Axis nation factions from the conflict, each with its own set of units, large maps that emphasize the importance of strategy, and multiplayer support for up to eight players are additional important features. Eugen Systems created R.U.S.E, a WWII-themed Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game that introduces massive battlefield deception to resuscitate the genre. Deception as a strategy is, of course, as old as the RTS genre itself, but R.U.S.E.’s approach is far superior to any that has come before it. R.U.S.E. raises deception to the level of an integral battlefield tactic, as opposed to the one-off ploys and minor misdirections that are performed at the discretion of the players in other games. Players are able to employ deceptive strategies, or “Ruses,” in a variety of ways, including camouflaging their troops, luring their adversary with decoy units, sabotaging his logistics, and bluffing enemies in order to lead your nation’s army to victory. Ruses are “cards” that can be played at specific times and are built into the game’s mechanics. There are a lot of these, and you can use them according to specific scenarios and unit abilities.
