Scramble: Battle of Britain is a tactical air combat game that immerses players in the fast-paced chaos of the 1940 summer skies. Set in a dynamic 3D airspace, this simultaneous turn-based game encompasses intricate details of aerodynamics and physics-based simulations unique to the piloting experience while minimizing time and reflex requirements. Players lead squadrons in fierce dogfights as the German Air Force and the Royal Air Force collide over the English Channel. At each stage of the game (Planning, Simulating, Verifying), players strategize and direct air maneuvers, observe the simulated results in real time, and use detailed camera tools to rewind the action and analyze battle damage. Scramble: Battle of Britain breaks down the chaos of air combat into short, exciting action bouts. Explore the tactical space of heart-pounding air combat in an easy-to-understand turn-based environment. See the enemy, identify threats and targets, loop control and command, roll, dive and pilot each aircraft in a desperate fight for survival. The planning phase of a Scramble round gives players the situational awareness and control to execute textbook level combat tactics and maneuvers. Zoom out on the sky diorama view and manipulate different tools to understand how each aircraft and pilot fits into the larger battlefield. The simulation phase of a Scramble round lets you work out your tactics amid a hail of high-velocity bullets and shredded aluminum, while the validation phase lets you see the action frame-by-frame. Assess battle damage, identify pilots who need to bail out, and experience the exciting action at your preferred pace and angle. In Scramble, aircraft are simulated down to the sub-component level, providing an authentic WWII fighter pilot experience. Top tacticians study the flight envelope of each aircraft and master the techniques of diving, climbing, and turning. Bullets penetrate fuel tanks, radiators, and engines, causing leaks and sparking fires. Ailerons and elevators fail under load, drastically changing the aerodynamics of the aircraft. Pilots tire and lose consciousness, and are as vulnerable to target fire as the aircraft’s mechanical parts. Raise a sputtering engine, rush to the shore before a leak drains your fuel tanks, or jump off and wait for rescue. Aircraft and pilot vulnerabilities can change the goal of any battle from enemy destruction to survival. Relive the historic Battle of Britain as the commander of a Royal Air Force squadron. Use your squad leader experience to guide your recruits through the shock of battle, recruit and train a squadron of pilots.
