Game Overview
Somniphobia: makes it very anxious and scary to think about going to bed. This phobia is also known as sleep dread, hypnophobia, clinophobia, and sleep anxiety.
Somniphobia is a physiological survival horror game for one player in which you take control of Susan’s nightmares. Traumas and unpleasant memories fill her nightmares. As soon as they get too close to you, Susan will wake up and have the same dream again, so you need to keep those thoughts and terrifying figments of her imagination away from her.
All you should think, and evaluate various thoughts assuming that you are to endure Susan’s bad dreams. In a terrifying, hand-painted world created by Susan’s imagination, you’ll have to squeeze through cramped vents and down corridors to escape and survive.
- Crawl through claustrophobic vents: Luckily this is still just a dream… however this means that sections of this cold dark, maze changes over time.
- Stay alert constantly! Monsters will creep up this hallway if you are not concentrating.
- Keep all of those nasty thoughts and memories away from you!: Use ‘cameras’ to look into Susan’s memories to keep track of where all the monsters are lurking. With only a small battery for your torch, a creature that moves towards you whenever you look behind yourself, and with the ability to only close off one vent at a time, you must carefully watch these unwanted memories to avoid wasting your resources… or getting jump scared!
