Game Overview
The Spanish Privateer puts you in the shoes of Isabel Carlota de Castilla, or simply Carlota, and takes place in the early 17th century, just before the Pirate Golden Age. Carlota is an 18-year-old runaway who is escaping a marriage that her parents forced on her. Carlota offers to work for her voyage aboard Captain Rico’s ship, La Aguja, because she cannot afford to travel by ship. Captain Rico is a privateer who possesses a letter of marque, which enables him to attack and capture Spain’s enemies. Carlota before long goes gaga for the ocean, and moves herself to turn into an important individual from the boat. In the midst of blade battles, balls, and tanked evenings at the bar, Carlota more deeply studies her kindred team individuals and the world external Spain. Carlota learns about the effects of colonization through trips to the Azores, cities in the Caribbean, and Veracruz, New Spain. Flint has a fierce devotion to the captain but also a mistrust of women. Gunnery is what he is good at. Captain Rico, who is originally from Puerto Rico, is no stranger to the sea. His gentle and forgiving demeanor conceals his scarred past. Sword combat is his area of expertise.
