He banished you to Pagan, a world under his control, after you defeated Batlin on Serpent’s Isle. It used to be a beautiful land, but ever since the ancient conflict between the evil “Destroyer” and the Elemental Titans, it has been enveloped in perpetual darkness. Titans, who are now considered gods, are cruel and careless. They empower their most fervent adherents, who then terrorize the Pagan population. Before the Guardian is successful in his plan to conquer Britannia—and then Earth itself—you must first become a Titan for yourself in order to return home. The tone of the Ultima series’ eighth installment is significantly darker. The plot is much more complex (do the goals outweigh the costs?) Additionally, the game focuses more on action, such as platform climbing and jumping. Your character’s training has also changed: You get better at using an ability the more you use it. To save Britannia and Earth, you must rely on your own strength, dexterity, intelligence, and magical skills without the assistance of a party. Dark, gripping tale about a moral quandary: Will you accept evil for the greater good? This game is much more action-oriented than previous installments, with new ways to explore the unknown and combat mechanics that are fluid and responsive. Living things: In Pagan, everyone has their own schedule for doing everyday things. Comes with the speech pack: All of the major characters in the game have full voices.
