Game Overview
You take on the role of an Uplink Agent who works for major corporations to earn a living. Hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other businesses, laundering money, erasing evidence, or putting innocent people in harm’s way are some of your responsibilities. You buy new software and tools with the money you earn for your computer systems. More lucrative and riskier missions become available as your experience level rises. A functioning stock market allows for speculation and even the possibility of influencing its outcome. People’s academic or criminal records can be changed. Money from bank transfers can be withdrawn into your own accounts. You can even contribute to the development of the most lethal computer virus ever created.
