Westwood was a small hilltop village in the 1940s; It was a town of factories by the beginning of the 1990s. The arrival of Alegra Pharmaceuticals resulted in the employment of nearly every local resident. Anesthetics and painkillers were all manufactured at its Westwood location. The colossal business was always met with suspicion by Peter Bennet. The old village’s soul and, more importantly, the happiness of his family were being eaten away by a machine-monster. He was so engrossed in his work that the tiniest hint was all it took to discover the truth: that something truly terrible lay hidden beneath Alegra’s promises and progress. He was a detective, so he knew how to hunt the truth, which is often difficult prey. When evil confronted him, he refused to remain silent. Even if it meant losing his mind, he would shout and scream the truth to the public. Is it a coincidence that his family has passed away recently? Peter will return to Westwood years later when he receives an enigmatic phone call.
